A barrister representing the government has told the Grenfell Tower public inquiry it was "deeply sorry for its past failures" with regards to safety.
52 of the 120 flats in the tower housed Disabled residents. 15 of the 37 residents classed as ‘vulnerable’ – Disabled people – were killed. 72 people died in the fire.
Changing Places accessible toilets to be brought to the majority of motorway service areas

A new partnership with DR UK member charity Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) will bring Changing Places accessible toilets to the majority of motorway service areas — making journeys easier for disabled people across England.
The charity will work with the Department for Transport to allocate £2 million of funding for Changing Places toilets, which will be built in the early 2020s.

London Underground operates a policy that older and disabled customers can request assistance from station staff on arrival, without needing to book in advance – Turn Up and Go assistance.
They are aware there are times when customers don’t get the assistance they need to travel, and are asking older and disabled people to complete a survey about their experiences of Tube staff assistance.
