Barriers and drivers to disabled people as commissioners of their own services.
Last week our Deputy CEO, Sue Bott along with Bernd Sass and Anna Denham, co-delivered a two-day workshop at the University of Bristol with regard to the “Getting Things Changed” research and development project.
Disability Rights UK is working on this in partnership with the Norah Fry Centre for Disability Studies at the university, and leads on one of five strands of the project, which looks at barriers and drivers to disabled people as commissioners of their own services.

On Monday February 1st members of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Disability gave evidence to a group of MPs chaired by the Leader of the House, Chris Grayling MP, on how the planned refurbishment of parliament should take cognisance of the needs of disabled people but also how any temporary building that houses the work of the parliament should be designed or planned for.
