Barriers and drivers to disabled people as commissioners of their own services.

Last week our Deputy CEO, Sue Bott along with Bernd Sass and Anna Denham, co-delivered a two-day workshop at the University of Bristol with regard to the “Getting Things Changed” research and development project.

Disability Rights UK is working on this in partnership with the Norah Fry Centre for Disability Studies at the university, and leads on one of five strands of the project, which looks at barriers and drivers to disabled people as commissioners of their own services.

Anna and Bernd have also been busy securing new research sites for “Strand 5”, including local authorities and Lived Experience teams in Hertfordshire, York and Darlington and collecting data from such team of a group of disabled service users who have been involved in co-commissioning in Tower Hamlets.
