Vote to annul PIP changes fails in the Lords

A Lib Dem attempt to annul regulations changing the rules to PIP was defeated in Lords by 164 to 75

The regulations were in introduced to overturn the decisions in two appeals regarding the PIP Activities for Managing therapy or monitoring a health condition and Planning and following a journey.

A Labour motion to "regret" the government's latest changes to disability benefits, as well as calling for a review of the impact was carried by 162 votes to 154. However, this motion does not prevent the changes coming into effect.

In her latest blog, DR UK CEO Liz Sayce argued that these changes to PIP were bad news for disabled people, both because of the financial cost and the knock-on effects on other outcomes that the Government is explicitly aiming to address.
