Help support a film on the impact of legal aid cuts

The Bar Council is looking to make a short film – 5 minutes or so - on the impact of legal aid cuts.
We would like the film to feature those who work directly with people who have been impacted by the cuts.
We are approaching charities who support those with disabilities, single parents and homeless people, litigants in person and professional groups in education and social work so that they can tell the stories of what happens to people who don’t have access to legal advice and support.

Social care may face 21% cuts, warns Labour

The Labour Party is warning that councils may have to brace themselves for cuts of around a fifth of their social care budgets. Its analysis is suggesting that local authorities may face a £3.5bn shortfall, resulting in the loss of care for just under a quarter of a million adults.
The government announced a further £6 million cash injection earlier this week, on top of the £3.2bn it has already released to councils since March.
