    New Public Accounts Committee report on the Work Programme

    The report finds the Work Programme has a poor track record in supporting harder to help participants into work. Only 11% of new Employment and Support Allowance claimants achieved job outcomes compared to the Department’s original (22%) and revised (13%) performance expectations. Therefore, almost 90% of Employment and Support Allowance claimants on the Work programme have not moved into employment.

    The statement announces pilots for the video recording of PIP assessments, which will eventually be a standard part of the PIP assessment process and also the extension of Capita and Atos contracts for a further two years to "better allow for a stable transition to any new provision."
