The Law Society is launching a new campaign because 600,000 people have lost access to civil legal aid
The campaign will be focusing on three core goals:
- persuading policymakers to amend parts one and two of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act
- raising public awareness of the importance of legal aid and the areas of law where it is still available, and
- encouraging and supporting Law Society members to make their services more accessible to the public
