We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and collaborative communication and content professional to join our team to lead on creating great content across multiple digital and social media platforms. This post will increase awareness of, and engagement with, DR UK amongst our members, stakeholders and the wider public.

You will join a highly successful team that works with Disabled people to change attitudes, perceptions and practices in all areas of life, including physical activity and well-being. You will be a creative person and able to work collectively, as well as work on initiative, to solve problems and create an impact for the benefit of disabled people.

The post will support the management of social media channels and multiple DR UK digital platforms including the main websiteGet Yourself ActiveRight to Participate, and our soon to be launched Disabled People’s Organisation (DPO) Support Hub.

We are looking for someone determined to have a positive impact on the way Disabled people access their rights across all areas of life. You will have the willingness to learn from and engage with our many partners including Disabled People’s Organisations (DPO), key stakeholders across sectors and of course our key audience, Disabled people themselves.

Purpose of the role

The purpose of the role is to get DR UK content out to the right audiences at the right time. This means managing and creating content across various DR UK platforms including websites and social media.

The content might include resources, guides, blog posts, research and evaluation reports available in a range of accessible media formats. Our audiences include our individual and organisational members, key programme stakeholders and partners, funders and potential donors. As well as developing content the post will be required to build on meaningful engagement approaches and ensure that planning is co-produced.

What will you be doing?

Digital content development and management

  • Collaboratively produce and coordinate blogs, impact stories, resources, and other digital content
  • Work with internal colleagues to create content and provide quality control support e.g., proofreading, editing and checking tone of voice.
  • Collate and distribute DR UK’s regular e-news bulletin.
  • Proactively source and co-produce content for a range of channels and audiences to drive DR UK’s strategic goals.

Website and social media management

  • Support the management of DR UK’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok) and maintain a content calendar coordinating content and posts around our programmes, campaigns, fundraising and events.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate website management policies and procedures.

Analyse and report on digital performance

  • Manage all search engines optimisation activities such as content strategy, link building, and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks.
  • Use website and social media analytics to help improve reach and engagement and set measurable KPIs for growth.
  • Spot social media trends and industry best practices, advising on best social media content, tactics and new technologies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the user experience via Google Analytics and other reporting tools.

Engagement strategy development and delivery

  • Support the development of the DR UK engagement and communications strategy to engage key audiences and drive traffic to DR UK platforms.
  • Form relationships with key social media influencers and other partners to help grow our reach.
  • Communicate with internal colleagues about digital performance.
