Women fill eight of the top ten spots in the Shaw Trust's annual list of the most powerful Disabled people in Britain.

Deaf Eastenders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis tops the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100, a year after winning Strictly Come Dancing. She is followed by social entrepreneur, disability inclusion specialist and broadcaster Shani Dhanda and Victoria Ann Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer and founder of Unhidden, a fashion range for Disabled people.

Several organisations make the list, including Disabled Students UK. Formed in 2020, it is the largest disabled student-led organisation in the UK, with students from over 60 universities. It achieved prominence for its work around the impact of the pandemic on Disabled students. MPs and UCAS often seek its views or expertise.

The youngest member is nine year old full-time powered wheelchair user Fraser Simmonds who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He is already the driving force behind Fraser and Friends – an online Facebook community which educates others about what life is like living with a disabling rare condition.
