The People's Funding Justice Collective: Fund DPOs Campaign!

News

Are you a part of a DPO, DDPO, disabled people-led campaign, or community initiative led by and for Disabled people? Are you a Disabled Activist, entrepreneur or change maker? Have you encountered barriers to accessing resources or recognition while undertaking critical work for your community? It’s time to change the narrative—and we need you!

The Funding Justice Collective is launching a bold campaign to change the narrative around social justice work led by Disabled people, demand funding for our work and shift power. This campaign will amplify our expertise, leadership, and impact. Importantly, it will shed light on the funding and consultation injustices facing Disabled people’s rights, and we want to feature YOU!

Feature in our campaign!

Share your experiences, expertise, and the impact that funding (or the lack of it) has had on your work. These will be short, accessible video interviews with real Disabled changemakers; because we are the experts' funders and communities should be investing in.

We believe in compensating Disabled expertise – so we’ll compensate you for your time and expertise, with additional compensation for behind-the-scenes footage and voice overs! We're founded in Disability Justice – so we’ll be prioritising intersectional voices, campaigns and organisations. We're also looking to show a diversity of different organisations/groups of different sizes, focuses and strategies - don't be nervous that you don't 'fit into the mainstream' because everyone is welcome.

Why This Matters

As a collective of organisations, campaigns and groups led by Disabled people, we’ve been excluded, underfunded, and undervalued. We’ve changed the world, and it hasn’t been recognised. We’re experts, and it’s not known. We refuse to ask for charity; we’re demanding a system change that recognises and funds/compensates us as experts.

How to Get Involved

This campaign is about us—by us—for us. Let’s demand funding justice together!
