Baroness Thomas of Winchester secured a Lords debate on 28 June 2018 “that this House takes note of the different challenges facing disabled people in the United Kingdom in 2018”

Disability Rights UK wrote two briefings in advance of the debate and sent them to all those members of the Lords taking part.

Briefing 1 outlines the challenges posed to disabled people by Personal Independence Payment, Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit.

Briefing 2 outlines why the DWP is being compelled to review the benefit claims of over 1.5 million disabled claimants.
