Even though the report notes the huge disadvantages newly diagnosed disabled people face in trying to re-enter the labour market there are no detailed or specific policy recommendations.

The perennial problems of the lack of awareness of employers of Government support such as Access to Work or the Fit for Work Service are also noted but again no solutions are offered. The employment challenges faced by disabled people have been largely ignored in this review.

We are still waiting for tailored solutions,” said Philip Connolly, Policy Manager of Disability Rights UK.
