DR UK ILF research cited by BBC

29 June 2015

The research, carried out by Disability Rights UK, into tomorrow’s closure of the Independent Living Fund (ILF) was mentioned several times on the Today Programme this morning, and on BBC TV News

Disability Rights UK sent FOI's to find out what local authorities would be doing about ILF transfers in England (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are introducing replacement ILF schemes).

Our survey found that less than half of local authorities have decided to ring-fence funding, which shows the severe uncertainty those being transferred off ILF in England face.

You can view our statement on the closure of the ILF here

The results of our FOIs are cited in today's BBC news item, Fears as government's Independent Living fund closes, at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-33307821 and also on the Today programme
