Our independent living conference 2014

21 July 2014

Thanks to all those who attended our Independent Living Conference

Watching Far beyond the pale - Justice for LB animated cartoon about Connor Sparrowhawk

The aim of the conference was to reach a common understanding of what independent living is today. This will form a basis for future campaigning and policy development for us and for like-minded organisations. See the agenda

You can see what delegates expected from the day as well as their definitions of what they believe to be independent living in the above film.

You can view the conference stream above - The stream begins 15 minutes in.

Delegates were also asked how we can take independent living forward.

We sent regular conference updates via twitter - #ILvision - but the debate does not end today.

You can view the key themes which emerged from the day and find out how you can contribute to the future of independent living debate at http://disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2014/july/our-independent-living-conference-looking-forward

We will publish progress reports on how the strategy is developing on our website and via twitter using #ILvision

Disability Rights UK would like thank all those who spoke, gave presentations and attended the event to make this such a great day.
