The face-to face assessments for attendance allowance claims have been suspended for three months from 17 March 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak; this period may be extended if necessary. Telephone or paper-based assessments will be arranged instead. If you already have an assessment appointment arranged, you do not need to attend it. The Department for Work and Pensions will contact you to explain what will happen next. If you already have an award of attendance allowance, and it is due to be reassessed in the three month period from 23 April 2020, your award will be automatically extended by six months.
