A must read for all disabled people’s organisations is the recently published report from the South East Network of Disabled People’s Organisations (SENDPO) “Confident Commissioning: Building Relationships between Local Authorities and Disabled People’s Organisations”.

It’s packed with information about why local is best, the benefits that disabled people’s organisations bring to their community, how local authorities can successfully commission local services, and how DPOs can measure their own social value.  It’s full of practical examples and should help many of our members counter the ‘commissioning threat’ that faces so many of our  organisations.
