Uber is extending its programme of Disability Equality Training (DET) for their partner-drivers involved in the UberACCESS or UberASSIST platforms throughout the UK.

Transport for All (TfA) and Inclusion London will be providing this training

TfA and IL will deliver up to 34 DET sessions each month across 19 areas of the UK. As part of this new contract they have recruited 25 Disabled trainers all around the country.

CEO Kamran Mallick says:

“Disability Rights UK welcomes the news that a transport provider like Uber is taking seriously how it provides service to disabled people. We are pleased that Transport for All and Inclusion London are the organisations that are to provide training which has been developed by disabled people. Disabled people delivering professional training with lived experience is a potent mix.

“The range of trainers recruited are experienced, talented individuals and we have every confidence that they will make a significant impact on the company.

“We want to see Uber maintain ongoing training and refresher training to drivers to ensure disabled people experience a barrier free service.”
