The review was led by Lord Holmes of Richmond MBE, who has now published his report in, later in 2018.

The report explores why the proportion of applicants for public appointments who declare a disability, is low compared to the UK population as a whole and how this can be improved.

Disability Rights UK took part in the review process and welcome the report.

Public appointments need to reflect our society and therefore be open to more disabled people.

Disability Rights UK is now administering the The EnAble Fund for Elected Office. This fund is intended to cover the additional financial costs associated with a disability or health condition, that would otherwise prevent someone from seeking elected office.
