Majority of EASS calls involve disability

Latest statistics for the Equality Advisory & Support Service (EASS) during April 2015 show that around 60% of calls on the helpline involved disability

In total, EASS received 3098 contacts during this period. The majority of queries were concerned with Article 8: Right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence.

The Equality Advisory Support Service (EASS) is a government funded helpline that has replaced the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) Helpline. The Helpline advises and assists individuals on issues relating to equality and human rights, across England, Scotland and Wales.

It is provided by Sitel who are working with Disability Rights UK, the Law Centres Network, Voiceability, the British Institute of Human Rights and the Royal Association for Deaf People.
