Volunteer charter launched

Disability Rights UK has been working with Community Service Volunteers and the Disability Action Alliance to produce a Charter to encourage voluntary organisations to be more accessible and welcoming to disabled people who want to volunteer with them

It follows a series of events held last year which explored the barriers to disabled people who want to volunteer including such issues as transport and attitudes towards disabled people.

The Charter was officially launched at University College of Technology, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire on Friday 5th December, International day of volunteering.
