Draft Care and Support Bill

On 11 July, the Government published a draft Care and Support Bill alongside a White Paper to reform social care and a progress report on funding of social care (see annex A). The reform covers England only.

Disability Rights UK warmly welcomes the Bill which ends the complexity of the current multiple care laws. The simplification and harmonisation will usefully clarify councils’ duties and disabled people’s entitlements to support. We have produced a briefing which sets out the key issues of the draft Care and Support Bill and our views which you can download below.
