On 28 April I Can Make It had a meeting in Wolverhampton between the Procurement Team at Wolverhampton City Council and two of our volunteers, Hannah Rebecca Joy Guscoth and Jonathan Mears.

This was a chance for us to meet with senior officers and align I Can Make It to projects Wolverhampton City Council were working on.

It was also a chance for our volunteers to ask questions from professionals working in procurement in local government and pitch their ideas for opportunities in employing young disabled people.

The meeting was a positive one where we were inspired by the procurement departments’ creativity and positivity and we’re looking forward to working more closely with them in the future. Special thanks go to Haley Macmichael, Area Director at Wolverhampton City Council who took the time to arrange the event.

What’s next for I Can Make It?

I Can Make It has just released two films, showing young disabled people at work

We would be grateful if you could take a look at them and share them with others within your network who might be interested.

Next Tuesday I’m off to Norwich to meet with Norfolk Council and local employers to discuss ideas on how to increase employment opportunities for young students with disabilities.

Finally, without meaning to sound like an American racing driver, we’d like to thank our funder Comic Relief and all our various partners that we’ve met over the last year for their support of our campaign. Expect a lot more from us this year.
