Disability Rights UK are saddened by the death of Josie Brown CEO of Salford Disability Forum

I had personally got to know Josie whilst working with her to organise the mobile digital fabrication laboratory in Salford. Josie had driven me in her adapted vehicle to see the forum’s garden centre project for people with learning difficulties at Princess Park, Irlam and had lent her support to it being the location for the fab lab’s first tour event on September 3rd and 4th

Josie was an impressive, committed and strong advocate for the rights of disabled people. She was gritty and grounded person but also a pioneer quick to see opportunities for disabled people to access independent living, such as that provided by the fab lab. Even though I only met her twice I will always be enriched by that contact and though I cannot be at the funeral hope as many people as possible can. Josie – thank you.
